“So I got this dock, hooked up three monitors, one with VGA and all new cables. The VGA connected monitor only seems to show up in 640x480 resolution when the product clearly states it can support 1080i through VGA. Do drivers affect this?”

Please try again later.I have not used that docking station, but I have another interface preference: If you are using a laptop computer to drive 3 monitors, I would start with a laptop that has a high-resolution screen: a Dell XPS 15 inch, or a 15-inch Vostro having a medium resolution (FHD rather than 4K Ultra). I like high-resolution screens so I have stopped using VGA. To avoid the need for a docking station, I use laptops that have two USB PORTS (TYPE A) so I can plug in a chip to control a wireless mouse, or a thumb drive in the Drive-D socket, so I can save a backup copy of my file. The Vostro 15 inch has two TYPE-A ports. So does the Samsung 15 inch, which also has a Thunderbolt (type C). Art 12/20/2020
