“I'm using this on my laptop accys, CD/DVD, ext. drive, etc. However my laptop will not boot with the J5 plugged in. If I wait until the laptop boots, then plug in the J5, all the accys will start with no problem. Will J5 ext power supply solve this?”

I had the same issue, Its the external hard drive that you mentioned. the pc is thinking its a boot drive. you can take it off of the dock and plug it into the pc directly and this should fix it. Alternatively you can go into the system bios and make the internal drive the only boot location the pc should look for.
