I was able to with my new MacBook Air. I had to adjust the settings under monitors to recording but works great now. I found a video on YouTube J5Create channel that explains where this is located. I also tried it with my MS Surface Laptop Studio - which struggled with it - I couldn't get a usb-c external HD to be recognized through the dock even plugged into the powered USB port, but my SSD connected fine via the USB C port,
