I have it connected to a USB C port and have had no issues.

If your USB-C port lacks DisplayPort Alt Mode, the docking station won't output video. - Power Delivery (PD): Supports charging your laptop via the dock's pass-through power. If your USB-C port does not support PD, the dock cannot charge your laptop. - The stand alone HDMI and VGA will require an installation of a driver for functionality. Drivers are available on j5create website. While the dock does not require Thunderbolt 3/4, these ports are highly recommended because: - Thunderbolt 3/4 ports inherently support DisplayPort Alt Mode and Power Delivery, ensuring full functionality of the dock.
