Plug it into the USB-C port or if you don’t have one then use an adapter. My Dell Inspirion has two USB-C ports.

The male USB-C connector cable, extending from the JCD543, must connect to a female USB-C port on the computer. Additionally, in order for the JCD543 to be fully operational, the computer's USB-C port must support the following features: USB 3.1, DisplayPort Alt Mode, and USB Power Delivery. If your computer does not have an available USB-C port, and instead has a standardized USB Type-A ports, we do offer alternative USB docking stations that might better meed your needs. I recommend that you consider the j5create - USB 3.0 Mini Docking Station (JUD380) from BestBuy, as it will connect to a USB 3.0 Type-A port on the computer.
