If you're looking to turn a HDMI output to connect to a VGA input, then no. This device will take a VGA output to a HDMI input. If you need to connect a HDMI output to a VGA input then you'll need a HDMI to VGA converter. Be wary however my personal experience with these is that they tend to distort the image, perhaps because I buy cheap products.
