• Ideally yes this device should work for that situation. A potential issue is that the USB stick is supposed to transfer sound and potentially provide more power. For me I do not need to have the USB plugged in as I have external speakers. Others say the USB provides power for the cable, but for me personally it works without.

• So long as the DVR has a USB output that supports USB Audio, then yes, the JDA214 should work.
