“I would like to use these for my workouts. Will these suffice or should i wait for the active version to be safe? Im not too interested in the other features the active provides. Just the water resistant rating.”

these are definitely able to be used for your workouts. I've played basketball with these and lifted weights. These have the best and most stable bluetooth connection i've come across. They DO NOT go in and out at all. I would definitely recommend these 1000%.

The Sport version comes with a two year warranty against damage from sweat and dust, the non-Sport version comes with a two year warranty against damage from water and dust, but not sweat. If your primary use is for workouts, you might be better off waiting for the Sport version.

Jogging would probably be ok but activities requiring up and down and side to side motions, maybe like some HIIT, might cause you to frequently readjust.

It worked fine for me with no issue, just sometime I need to take it out and wipe down the sweat (I hate the sticky feeling.) IP 55 and 56 is actually so close to each other, so it depends on your choice.
