Yes you can, I have mine paired to my iPhone, iPod and my Fitbit verse watch and it works fine and does easily pair. It will work on Bluetooth 4.0

It is Bluetooth 5.0. Bluetooth 5.0 is backward capable with Bluetooth 4.0 devices; the only difference is, you wont have the LE benefits if you had a Bluetooth 5.0 capable device

Hello Rich - Thank you for your interest in the Jabra Elite Active 65t! The Elite Active 65t uses bluetooth 5.0, but bluetooth is backwards compatible, so it will work just fine with bluetooth 4.0. The Elite Active 65t was designed and optimized to pair with mobile devices, such as smart phones and tablets. If your MP3 player has bluetooth, it may pair, but we cannot guarantee the connection between the two as it has not been tested.
