It's important to note that the Explorer 290, with its 290Wh capacity and 200W output power, is not designed to handle the high power requirements of a typical sump pump. Sump pumps usually have a horsepower rating of 1/3 hp or 1/2 hp and consume between 800 to 1050 watts when operating. For powering a sump pump or other high-power devices, we recommend considering our higher-capacity and higher-output power stations, such as the Explorer 1000 v2, 1000 Plus, or 2000 Plus. These models are better suited to meet the demands of such appliances and provide the necessary backup power during emergencies.
