However, we do not recommend using the Explorer 290 as a long-term, continuous power supply while it's plugged in. Continuous use in this manner can impact the longevity of the battery and may cause overheating if the unit is constantly charging while in use. For long-term power backup applications, we suggest exploring larger capacity models like the Explorer 5000 Plus with Smart Transfer Switch, which are better suited for sustained use and power supply during outages.
