I have the hero 7 black. The harness/cage may not, but the connectors all the same, I believe, so it ought to work fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is really two questions, The shoe is the standard mounting shoe for GoPros. Also, the screw tightened mount at the housing is the standard GoPro mount. So both the shoe and the friction pivot mounts are the same. I have a Hero 4 and the works with it.

I put my Hero 4 inside the protective clear housing to attach the GoPro to the Jaws clamp via the standard GoPro slide mount. I'm pretty certain this will work well with a Hero 5. I'm not 100% certain, but if it worked on my Hero 4 I'm sure it will work on your Hero 5.
