Most manufacturers will have a switch to change the configuration of the amplifier output no harm to speaker or amplifier if the the amplifier was 2 ohms and speakers were 4 ohms the gain would have to be adjust to compensate for over-driving the output stage. No problem with your current setup and speaker output will be minimal you probably won't notice any change in sound quality.
