As long as you don't eat it or sleep with it on your head it should be fine
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is, like another person said, generally safe. I noticed that the plastic leaves off a bit of a smell from certain chemicals mixed with it so keep it more than 1 foot from you and the air will circulate it. The smell is carcinogenic is why they present the label. I have a boombox smaller than this which does not leave off any smell and it's much stronger. It is near a publication number in the USPTO patent pending. To answer another comment; as for earphones, the amount of material that falls under proposition 65 is so light that it poses no health effects even on your ears. For any issue with those, even the largest of headphones, you'd have to place them only a couple inches away from your nose and your ears are a bit further than that. It is only once there is a significant enough amount of materials which will inevitably emit more carcinogens into the air.

The warning label is actually in compliance to Proposition 65, which is a California law that requires businesses to provide a warning before exposing individuals in California to any of 900-plus chemicals that California lists as a carcinogen or a reproductive toxicant. This varies based on product type. Many of the chemicals on the Prop 65 List are common additives found in products such as jewelry, lamps, ceramic tableware, food, lead crystal glasses, electric cords, automobiles, beauty products, and furniture. And since we sell products throughout the U.S. and internationally. We don't know where each item will ship. We have no alternative except to place the Prop 65 warning on all of our products regardless of where they are sold. But rest assured that California’s Prop 65 isn't a product safety law, but a chemical right-to-know law. We believe our products are safe when used as intended.
