Q: QuestionI can’t seem to do a software update on my JBL charge 5 that I just bought. Any suggestions here, please?

• A:Answer Thank you for your inquiry. To update your device, please follow these steps: Open the JBL Portable App and initiate the firmware update. If the update doesn't complete successfully: Completely remove the JBL Portable App from your device and then reinstall it. Try updating the firmware once more. If it still doesn't work, you'll need to reset your device to its factory settings (Turn on the speaker. Press and hold "Volume +" and "Play" for more than 3 seconds. Speaker will turn off, and reboot to factory default.). After the factory reset, try updating the firmware again. For further assistance, please contact us.

While our JBL Charge 5 offers excellent sound quality with output power of 40W, it might not be sufficient to fill larger spaces like a basketball court or soccer field, especially with background noise from fans and the environment. In such cases, it's worth considering a larger speaker, such as our JBL PartyBox lineup, which is designed to deliver even more powerful sound for bigger venues.

Q: QuestionWhy is there so little information in the specs? It seems as if the company is hiding something. I had to scroll through the FAQ's to find out the wattage and it that the sound is mono.
