• I've used it for 6 hours, it did not shut off but i was done with it and had recharged before next use. Not sure about 8 hous. Unfortunately it does not have an indicator to say how much power is left.

• The Clip gives you up to 5 hours of battery power. However,battery life would really depend on how the speaker is used, depending on music content (i.e Rap, R&b, rock, etc...) and volume level would certainly play a major role in the play time of the speaker. If the speaker is at 80-90% volume playing audio with a lot of BASS, battery/play time would be shortened compared to the speaker playing mellow/slow music at 40-50% volume.
