its pretty loud, and no you can't download music onto it.

It connects to devices via bluetooth and then plays the music from that device. You would have to download the music onto the device, then connect it to the speaker and play the music through the speaker that way.

I don't believe you can download music to it but it does come with a aux cord built in so you can plug any with a headphone jack if you don't have a Bluetooth device.
