“Will these get damaged if I drop them in a pool/bathtub? I understand they are not for swimming...but i thought they were waterproof? I work near water so I am worried what might happen if I drop them in... how long can they stay submerged?”

I'm going to guess by being water "resistant" they don't guarantee submerged at all. They are designed to be sweated on and sprayed on. Probably OK for white water rafting unless you get dunked. Also guessing if they fall into a tub, you want to remove them immediately. I could be wrong but if they're not waterproof that is usually what that means. Hopefully someone else can offer more insight.
