Thank you for your inquiry. It is possible that our JBL Go 4 may cut off the beginning of word after the speaker was on a standby mode. This can occur while the speaker re-establishes the Bluetooth connection with your source device. Standby model automatically activates after 5-10 minutes of inactivity (when the speaker is powered on but no audio is playing.)
