My cable box is connected to my LG television. I ordered the Nulaxy BR04 Bluetooth 2-in-1 Receiver and Transmitter from Amazon (sorry, Best Buy). In order for it to work the way you need due to your hearing issue, you would connect it to the Cable Box rather than the LG TV. This way, you can use the headphones and leave the television sound on at the same time. Not sure if anyone else has other suggestions, however, I know this worked for me.
