“I have 2 questions Just bought a pulse 5 speaker and wanted to know if I bought another pulse 5 , do I need to download an app for the pairing ? My second question is ...can I leave it plugged in all the time or will it drain battery life? Thanks”

Yes, you have to download an app. It’s called JBL Portable. leaving it plugged in all the time will drain the battery

Turn on the second JBL Pulse 5, and click the infinity/PartyBoost buttons on both JBL Pulse 5 which is under the light changer mode button. You will hear a chime sound that indicates that they are connected successfully. You can still use your JBL Pulse 5 while leaving it plugged in, and it shouldn't affect its battery life. But you could unplug your JBL Pulse 5 when it is fully charged. However, do not leave your JBL Pulse 5 plugged in while directly contacted to the sun, it will drastically affect the battery life and performance of the speaker. Additionally, do not leave your speaker fully discharged, which will cause a very bad effect on its battery performance.
