While both speakers are great, has a maximum music playing time of up to 12 hours, and supports our JBL PartyBoost feature, our JBL Pulse 4 has an output power of 20 watts and its Bluetooth version is 4.2 while our JBL Pulse 5 has an output power of 30 watts RMS for Woofer and 10 watts RMS for Tweeter and its Bluetooth version is 5.3. • A:Answer Thanks for your question. It is possible that your JBL Pulse 5 is locked or there is a power button failure. To isolate the issue, while the unit is unplugged, power cycle by pressing and holding the power button for 30 seconds. If the issue remains, try resetting it by pressing and holding the Light and Bluetooth buttons for more than two seconds while it is on. You may need to forget your speaker on your device to pair it again. If you need more help, please contact us.

Q: QuestionHi, I’ve tried different cables plus the cable it came with, but it’s not charging right no matter what cable I’m using. Before it was at 20% now it’s at 10% and it’s not even reaching 20%. Is there something I’m doing wrong or do I have a defective JBL?

Then, try charging it with another power adapter that provides at least 5V/2A from an alternate power source. Q: QuestionI have 2 questions Just bought a pulse 5 speaker and wanted to know if I bought another pulse 5 , do I need to download an app for the pairing ? My second question is ...can I leave it plugged in all the time or will it drain battery life? Thanks
