I accidentally left my case at home and when I turn off my right earbud,it won't turn back on.Do I need the case just to turn them on null

I would think so, the case not only charges the device but maybe reset it.

Short answer, yes. Several times I have left range of my phone with one of the buds in, and when I got back to the phone it failed to connect. This is a 1 in 50 chance, only happens rarely, but when it does, you have to put both buds in the case for a second. When you do, they pair with the base and with each other, clear their memory, then wait to pair externally.
I am impressed with this product after 2 months or so of use. Little issues like this matter less to me when I only paid $20
