Marie, see the picture below of what you can control from the earbuds. I have only used the volume up and down buttons, but calls can be controlled also.

They come with a card that explains how to do so, but it’s essentially just different taps to the side of the earbuds that does different things. I will say I have found that it can take a couple times for me to tap correctly sometimes, so sometimes I just use my phone if it’s right in front of me.
