it’s as simple as plugging the jack into the labtop. These are wired earphones.

Please try again later.If you are referring to the new(er) Ideapads that do not have a headphone jack visible in the front,you can locate one in the back /rear of your unit and in order for you to use it you would need to go to your settings--speaker setting-->then select rear 3.5mm headphone jack as output. Whether you will have to switch back and forth in settings to use speakers i am not sure. I would google "(your Lenovo model #)+3.5mm headphone use issue)
