• This tripod seems to be much higher quality than the previous I had. I do a lot of farm animal work and mine is still in great condition!

• Correct, the 3k Pro is a metal GorillaPod, like the 5k is. The regular 3k is plastic like the 1k and other smaller GorillaPods. Both have the same weight rating (3 kg), the only other difference besides build material is the 3k Pro ball head is arca-swiss compatible, while the regular 3k uses a JOBY QR plate that works with JOBY Compact tripods and Vert.
