They only sell the true "Red" joy cons in the Mario Odyssey Nintendo Switch Bundle. You cannot buy them separately.

The Red Joycon are not available in stores outside of Japan, unfortunately.

At this point there is only neon red. Not sure if there will be more color options in the future. Currently, the only way to get red is to buy the mario Bundle Switch for $389.99.

They only make one type of red controller.

I would suggest you get the one available even if the color is neon red. The natural oils from his hands will eventually change the color to a less bright and more subtle appearance.
