• Yup, sure is. Depending on which model you have, the meow timing and what sets it off can change, but it's there and I love it.

• I'm not sure about motion sensors. It's more like variations in light levels my wife's starts signaling for attention when daylight starts making the room brighter. I thought I was buying a cat not a rooster. Fortunately it has an OFF switch.
