The installation will require at minimum soldering the radio’s wiring harness to an adapter to be able to plug into your car’s factory harness, and depending on the vehicle you have may require pulling apart your car’s dashboard and installing an aftermarket piece for the radio to go in so no, it is not plug and play and I doubt a 5-year old could do it
