This should have been gone over at the point of purchase. When I purchased mine, we were asked if we planned on utilizing the xm/Sirius radio. We declined and were subsequently informed that we didn't need to buy the tuner. It appears to be a minor oversight.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I can only speak for the receiver unit I have. I only needed to buy the antenna and of course the XM subscription. After having for 2 yrs, I have made a change to a single XM Select plan so I can also listen through the app on my phone, Bluetooth to devices, and Alexa/Google in the house. So only Bluetooth while in each of my vehicles rather than have separate services in each vehicle. Having the one plan will save you money in the long run and still enjoy the satellite radio without add-ons and labor charges to install/modify your new radio. Though you can only have one stream going at a time which is fine for me. In renewing my service I had XM send me a home tuner to hook up to my sound system which was no cost! Hope that’s helpful.
