“Will this work with a Sony xbr-43x800g? I realize it pivots against the wall, and it pivots left/right midway on the arm, does it pivot left right at the place where it mounts on the TV? in other words, are there three vertical hinges? Thanks!”

Your TV has a compatible VESA pattern of 100mm x 200mm and is under the weight limit of 70 lb, It should work great! The LS340 has 2 vertical hinges, it does not have one at the top where it mounts to the TV.
