jay, You can install the mount into stone using the supplied concrete anchors, we do not recommend installing into grout as the strengths varies. Feel free to contact us using the support button on our website if you need additional clarification, thanks.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I did have Best Buy install this in my stone fireplace recessed area in a covered patio area. They cautioned me that the device was not designed to be installed in the stone without proper anchoring. It has been installed for three years now with no problems. I do have a cover that closes over the area when it is not in use. I would caution you that if the area is recessed, carefully choose the size of your TV as it can be a little frustrating maneuvering the TV inside and out of the recessed area once it has been extended or shifted. It's possible to do but can be a little frustrating if the TV is mounted very high. All in all it has worked perfectly for my application.
