“I'm mounting a 55' TV above my fireplace mantel. The mantel is placed a little high. I'm looking for a mount that can extend out over the mantel and tilt down when in use. I read the tilt function is not on the fly, do you think this is a deal breaker?”

The mount can't be adjusted on the fly, but how easily it adjusts depends on how tightly you set the adjustment bolt. I guess it would be possible to set the bolt loose enough to adjust it by hand, however if it is adjusted loosely it may not hold the TV at a fixed degree of tilt.
