• I did not put my speakers in my boat but had the marine where I bought the boat put them in. I can tell you that the template on the box the KFC-1653MRW speakers came in calls for a 5-1/2 “ hole

• I replaced a 6.5 in speaker. That was about the hole size though. I didn’t measure exactly because it fit in without adjustment. There’s a template included if you need to cut a new hole
