“Am I correct in understanding that this camera is battery powered (as opposed to 12v cord powered)? If yes, how frequently does the battery need replacing? Any chance is recharges via solar?”

• The camera does have to be hooked to power in your vehicle.

• This camera runs on direct 12v. There is no internal batteries in this model.
