I installed this radio in a sailboat built in Canada in 1974. No hitches. I admit I had no on-board safety gear such as a car alarm to interface to but I use Bluetooth and USB as well as hand free calling on my sailboat. The boat never had a radio prior to this install. It should be just fine.
