K-55 is just a newer version of the 50 repackaged with the water pickup and filter location further forward.

There is no difference in features or functionality between the K50 Coffee Maker and the K55 Coffee Maker, which is why the brewer certification on the bottom of the brewer still refers to the brewer as the K50 model. However, we recently introduced comprehensive packaging updates for this brewer, and because of this we needed to update the model number on the gift box. Hope this helps!
