A:Answer 1. The brewing side and pod side share the same water tank.
2. The brewing side must complete its cycle before you can start a pod cycle. The machine won't let you select and start a pod cycle until the brewing cycle has finished. The brewing decanter can stay on the warmer plate while you use the single pod side.
3. The water tank does not need to be empty to start a new pod cycle. I recommend you keep an eye on the tank and avoid letting it run out, whether brewing or using pods. If the tank runs out before completing the brewing cycle, it will end the cycle at that point. For example, if you request 10 cups brewing, but it runs out of water after only 6 cups brewing, the cycle stops there with only 6 cups. If you add more water to the tank after the cycle has detected water out, you will have to completely restart the cycle to get more, in this case a new cycle asking for 4 more cups and start again.
