Yes I have a kicker 1200 watt amp hooked up to two twelves. Sounds awesome.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Technically you can hook it to anything. 1st off what brand amp is it? If it’s 1400x2 channels “boss or crunch” brand, amp, then sure, they don’t usually push their rated power, but if it’s a JL Audio or Kicker amp, please Keep in mind, In Any Case, it’s max rating is 600 watts. But Start off at 1/4 gain being safe, either way, then tune your receiver in and you’ll be fine. If you hear “chatter” from sub when tuning in & jamming, lower bass on receiver 1st. If still chatters lower gain on amp. Use 12- 14 gauge Fine stranded speaker wire for best sound quality. Your gain can Not be all the way up and your hertz should be set around 70-80. You’ll be fine
