KICKER recommends that if you are looking for maximum performance from your speaker system that you use an amplifier that produces an RMS wattage that is within +/- 20% of the RMS rating of your speakers. Your Rockford subwoofer is rated at 500 Watts RMS so with two of those you would be at 1000 Watts RMS required as a maximum RMS rating. Kicker would recommend using an amplifier that is RMS power rated at no less than 800 Watts and no more than 1200 Watts RMS to power both of those speakers. The KICKER CXA1200.1 produces 1200 Watts RMS into a 2-ohm or 1-ohm load and would work well within those parameters. Always keep in mind that smaller amplifiers will also sound great but just not get you the full output (SPL, loudness) potential of your speaker systems. We recommend setting the gains properly and do not operate your amplifier into clipping. If you have further questions, please feel free to reach out to KICKER Technical Support.
