It depends on what you want. I have a 13 band graphic equalizer that would help out with tuning the frequencies for install (Pioneer AVH-220EX). The Kicker CS 6.5's are what I have. As they will sound a lot better than stock, installing a 4 channel amp helps them shine. With that, they tend to lack in the strong bass as I set the HPF to 80 for clarity. I then installed the hideaway for the low frequencies. If you are not looking to rattle windows, it definitely fills in nicely. Putting the hideaway in by it selfs seems to add too much bass for stock if it is inside the cabin vs the trunk. P.S. I have this installed in a 2016 Nissan Versa Note under my front seat.
