• Hello StephenA, the Depth Closed Excluding Handles is 24 1/2" and the Depth Closed Including Handles is 26 3/4". We hope this helps.

• Counters are standard 24 inch. So this sticks out a little and the handle makes it stick out more . Look at the diagram. All dishwashers are made to fit counter depth
