berk, the downdraft has a 3-speed fan control that can be adjusted to cooking needs, effectively removing steam, grease, and odors from the air. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Fan pulls air down. Need to have vent hose below the unit. If the fan is running, some of the moisture gets pulled down, but you would still have some moisture getting to you overhead cabinets.
