Hello. Thank you for reaching out regarding this Range. Induction is not the same as convection. Induction cooktops uses electromagnetic fields to directly heat compatible pots and pans, making it highly efficient, fast, and precise. Convection uses a fan to circulate hot air around food, ensuring faster and more even baking or roasting. Only use pots and pans made from ferromagnetic material which are suitable for use with induction cooktop. Compatible cookware includes Enameled steel, Cast iron, and stainless steel for induction cooktops. We truly appreciate you choosing KitchenAid appliances, and we are happy to assist if you have any further questions.
