QuestionHello, I actually have two questions. First, how do I lift the handle and how far does the handle tilt up? Second, during mixing I’ll want to get my scraper along the edges, will that be possible? It was not possible on the Aliesson mixer.

- Answer ALL YOU DO IS ROTATE THE HANDLE IN THE BACKTO RAISE THE BOWL. YOU TURN TIL IT STOPS !/2 ROTATION I STOP THE MIXER & LOWER THE BOWL TO SCRAPE THE SIDES OR ADD INGREDIENTS

Questionis the KitchenAid 5.5 Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer a AC or DC motor? And if AC is it as quiet as the Artesion?

- Answer Hi lee, The 5.5 model is an AC motor with all metal construction and will be louder than the Artisan Model.

QuestionCan I use speed above 2 with the spiral dough hook since manual said use speed 2 only. I found that speed 2 is too slow for kneading dough.

- Answer You can do what you want. It is not recommended by the manufacturer due to risk of motor failure.

- Answer In the KSM55 this is the only red. If you want other options you will have look at the tilt head mixers. We love our mixer. The Empire Red is a great fit for our granite countertops.
