• The last two letters of the model's name mean the color. So, they are the same models of different colors. There are some examples: AP - Apple Cider WM - Watermelon WH - White ER - Empire Red CE -Copper Pearl IB - Ink Blue

• Hi bobbyD, The difference is the color of the units. The SM is Silver Metallic and is a muted silver color compared to the MC, metallic chrome which is a high gloss chrome color.
