Coffee beans grounded coarse and not fine. You can also use to make teas. Read and follow instruction on the manual.

It helps to use a coarse grind. Find a pre-ground coarse grind or grind your own. For ultimate flavor, grind enough for each batch just prior to making it.

You can use whole coffee beans and grind your own or use pre-ground coffee. In either case, it's best to use a coarse grind for cold brewing.

Any of your favorite ground coffees will work. I you want to use beans you will need to grind them first. It is similar to drip coffee except instead of dripping hot water over the coffee grounds the basket is dunked in water and allowed to sit for 4-12 hours and then removed leaving coffee concentrate behind.
