• The standard kitchen aid mixer, is a tilt head, that is very heavy. This is to help keep the mixer head from bouncing around, while mixing stuff such as bread dough, or cookie dough. With the bowl lift mixer, the base is a little longer and wider, to allow a better foot print, and the bowl lift system, locks in place, to hold the bowl in place while mixing. I have mixed bread dough, with NO movement from the mixer, or the bowl.
