“I'm not knowledgeable about powered speakers. 1) I have a Denon AVR-S650H, any harm plugging it into these powered speakers? 2) Additionally, could I use the speakers as passive with the Denon, then active with other speaker connected devices?”

It is not typically recommended to connect powered speakers to a receiver/amplifier. You will not be able to use speaker wire and the typical red and black terminals. To connect the R-41PM to a receiver, you will need to use a 3.5mm analogue cable. Please check with Denon's support to see if this connection is feasible.
