Well given that you've had 10 and 12" woofers before, you know they sound great. With that said, 8" is enough, although 10" is even better as it moves more air. But a solution with these is there are 2 8" drivers in there. So my 2c is this...Get these, and if you REALLY want deep bass, get a 15" sub...either a Klipsch or something else if you prefer. To get the really low tones (down to 20hz where you really feel it) requires a 15" or larger sub. It can be done with others, and for example the Klipsch 10" sub sounds great...but it only gets down to the low 30s at spec. It will play down to 27, but it is weak there. These + 15" sub = happiness for you imo.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a Klipsch 10" sub woofer and it has more than enough bass and LFE for my home theater setup.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Klipsch makes a 15-inch sub-woofer that goes down to about 18 hertz (if I remember correctly). THAT IS THE SUB TO GET! I have a 12-inch Polk sub-woofer and I have disconnected it! The Klipsch towers sound A LOT BETTER and EVEN LOUDER than that pathetic 12-inch sub that Polk makes. Do yourself a favor? If you want the best then go ahead and get the best! I will be running to an online store as soon as I have enough money!! **Best Buy does not carry the 15-inch Klipsch sub-woofer! Like, why not?!?**
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. With an independent sub, yes, it can most certainly compete. I paired this with a klipsch r12sw and it plays beautifully. Love the "punch". For more boom, consider a 15' offering from klipsch for matching timbre. Beware the huge speakerbox.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm using an old Klipsch LF-10. It absolutely rocks.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Good question, as I did also question the smaller woofer. Unbelievable bass I turned my bass settings to 2 it was plenty on these 8" woofers. Cabinet has a good deep enclosure. I'm happy without 12s.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought the Klipsch 400watt 12SW and they sound great together plus the set matches perfectly.
